Hide photos, videos and files inside a calculator that really works. Only your PIN opens the vault, and only on your phone.

On top, an ordinary app. Underneath, your vault.

Everything you keep is encrypted the moment it comes in, and stays on your phone. No server ever sees it, because there is no server.

The problem

Your phone holds the things you would never show anyone. Photos. Screenshots. Documents. And it opens for whoever is holding it: a partner who knows your code, a friend who borrows it, a stranger who takes it.

Hiding a folder isn't hiding. It still says it's there.

A gloved cartoon hand creeps across a café table toward a phone full of private photos.
The disguise

Don't take our word for it. Try it.

This is how VaultSec looks to everyone else: a calculator that calculates. Type any six digits, then press and hold =.

Made for real life

Whoever picks up your phone

  1. Sam at a garden shed's open door; the real vault sits apart, across the water.

Two doors, and only one is real

If someone at home insists, a second PIN opens a harmless decoy. Your real vault stays shut behind the first.

  2. Sam hands a walrus a phone that shows a calculator.

Hand it over. It's just a calculator

The moment you lock the phone or switch away, VaultSec is a cover app again. A shake closes it on the spot.

  3. A crow holds half a key while Sam keeps the other half.

Half the key never leaves this phone

Your PIN only works together with this phone's security chip. A copy of the phone opens nothing, anywhere.

  4. Sam relaxes in a deck chair at sunset beside a calculator.

    Quiet, and out of sight

Nothing on the phone says “vault”. Your things live inside an everyday app that does exactly what it looks like.

The twelve-second short

Video, no sound: a title card reads "VaultSec presents". The camera glides across a night town to a little kiosk shaped like a calculator, with the words "It looks like a calculator." It drops through the ground into a warm vault beneath, where Strongbox Sam waves: "Underneath, your vault." It ends on a card: "Only your PIN opens it."

What's inside

Every protection is in the free version

  • A decoy PIN

A separate Emergency PIN opens a different, harmless vault — one you are willing to have seen. It never touches the real one.

  • It closes itself

Locking the phone, taking a screenshot or the panic shake shuts the vault on the instant. No countdown, no question.

  • Your PIN is the key

Files are sealed with a key that only your PIN and this phone's security chip can unseal together. A wrong PIN produces no key at all.

  • Seeing who tried

Wrong PINs are written down with the time, inside the vault itself. Never file names, contents or keystrokes.

  • A camera that keeps its photos

Photos taken inside VaultSec go straight into the vault, never to your camera roll.

  • Opening without the PIN

Turn on Face ID or fingerprint to answer a fresh lock — but only after your PIN was typed once since the phone started.

  • Encrypted backups

Save a sealed backup file wherever you like. It opens only with your Primary PIN, so it is a copy, never a spare key.

  • Sending to someone you trust

Share with up to 8 contacts you added face to face. Each gets their own sealed key; the package travels by any app and opens only in their VaultSec.

  • A short grace window

Optional: step out to copy something and come straight back without retyping your PIN. Off by default.

  • 0servers that hold your files
  • 0trackers, ads or analytics
  • 256-bitAES encryption on every file
  • 1key: your PIN, on your phone
How it is built

Built for the worst day, not the average one

VaultSec is designed against two real threats: someone holding your unlocked phone, and someone copying everything on it.

  • Encrypted on arrival

Every file is sealed with AES-256-GCM under its own key the moment it comes in, and is never written back out in plain form. (A photo from the in-vault camera exists unsealed for an instant, because the phone's camera writes it first; VaultSec seals it and deletes the plain copy in one step.)

  • No account, no cloud

VaultSec makes no network connections. There is no server holding your data, a copy of it, or a key to it.

  • Nothing says “vault”

On disk, files and settings carry ordinary names, and are excluded from iCloud and computer backups.

  • No tracking, at all

No analytics, no crash reports, no advertising IDs, no notifications. We cannot see who uses VaultSec.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is VaultSec really free?

Yes. Every protection works in the free version, for up to 100 items. Unlimited is a single purchase that only removes the cap. There are no ads.

What happens if I forget my PIN?

The vault cannot be opened, by you or by us. There is no recovery service by design. Keep your PIN somewhere safe, and keep a current encrypted backup.

Can you see my photos or files?

No. They never leave your phone, and VaultSec has no servers. We could not hand them over to anyone, because we never have them.

What if someone forces me to open it?

Set an Emergency PIN. It opens a separate, harmless decoy vault that looks real, and it never reveals or erases the real one.

Will it show up as “VaultSec” on my phone?

On the home screen it shows the cover you pick — a calculator, a converter, a sudoku or a domino score keeper — with a matching icon. Your app store's purchase history will still list VaultSec.

What happens when I get a new phone?

Make an encrypted backup, move the file to the new phone, and restore it with your Primary PIN.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. VaultSec never connects to the internet. Only the one-time purchase goes through Apple or Google.

When can I get it?

VaultSec is coming soon to iPhone and Android. This page will link to both stores on launch day.
